Frequently Asked Questions

We have a Junior Taster Course information page available here for all parents.  This outlines what is involved in the Taster Course, dates for Summer 2019 etc.

Can I pay for the Taster Course in advance of applying for a place?

No.  This year there will be a closing date for applications and after that you will be contacted and advised as to whether or not your child has secured a place and only then will you be asked to pay for the place.

When can I apply?

Places are limited so we would encourage you to send in your application once they are available online. Priority will be given to paid up members – full details and application form will issue online towards the middle of February.  Please note – the application process has changed since last year and no payment will be collected until after we have sent you confirmation that your child has secured a place on the course.

How old does my child have to be to do the full day course?

A child must be 9 years old before 31st October 2019 to sign up for the full day course.

Do I have to have my own boat?

Baltimore Sailing Club will provide boats for children on the half day courses, but if a child has access to their own boat to use for the half day course this would be very helpful to the Club.  The half day course is based on one instructor and two children sharing one boat.

Participants on the full day course MUST have their own boat or a place in a boat.  This must be a suitable boat for the course.

What are the Taster Course Fees this year?

You can find this information on the Information page here.
