Friday 9th August next sees the return of the popular RNLI Baltimore’s fundraising Cocktail Party & Auction held by Baltimore Sailing Club to assist its local volunteer RNLI’s branch in saving lives at sea.  The Club is encouraging visitors to the area, club members and those who enjoy the facilities in Baltimore and the region to pop along to the Clubhouse at 6pm and bid for lots which are suited to all budgets and interests.

Lots include sailing Master Classes, paintings, craft pieces, concert tickets, golf options, ferry trips, whale & dolphin trips, hampers, wonderful restaurant vouchers, select wines & whiskeys and chefs to cook in the home of the lucky bidder.  Popular Auctioneer, Morgan O’Driscoll will, once again, give of his exceptional auctioneering skills on the night, there is a full bar service, and the sailing club members will provide complimentary canapés. The evening will be rounded off with a lively adult disco.

Fundraising is crucial to RNLI Baltimore as there is a constant draw on funds to keep the busy service afloat and effective and their unselfish work is hugely respected in the area.  This event is the most important one for the local organisation, and Baltimore Sailing Club is urging its members, friends and visitors to come and enjoy what promises to be fun-filled evening in the company of people who genuinely wish to support their gallant volunteer crews.

RNLI Baltimore has a proud history of saving lives, and in this, its centenary year, callouts and rescues this year so far include medical evacuations from the islands, eleven launches and 10 people rescued.  The population of Baltimore is approximately three hundred people, yet the RNLI Baltimore volunteers number 67 people, from all walks of life, all intent on saving lives at sea.
