The August Sailing Course commenced on the 7th August with 85 sailors participating across all levels. Club Supper 5 took place last Wednesday night with guest chefs Lisa and Andrew Kennedy cooking for another sold out event.

Thursday morning was the coffee morning for parents of the August course and everyone enjoyed catching up with old and new friends.

Friday night saw the club filled for the annual RNLI Cocktail Party and Auction. Kieran Cotter, Coxswain of the RNLI Baltimore spoke about the work they do and why the funds raised are so important. The night was MC’ed by Peter O’Flynn and Auctioneer Morgan O’Driscolll worked his magic by entertaining all present whilst achieving great bids for the amazing array of lots accumulated by a hardworking team.

Later on that evening the Over 25’s Disco proved why it is always a hit on the club calendar!. One dancer compared the night to a night in Ibiza!!!.

Saturday morning was the second week of the August Lousy Cup Junior Dinghy League with 16 boats racing in the morning. In the afternoon the Sloops decided not to race due to unfavourable conditions but seven 1720’s raced under the watchful eye of Colette O’Flynn and her team completed two races before returning to the Clubhouse for the Member Social and Race Prizegiving.

Tomorrow Tuesday 14th August, the club hosts the Baltimore Tidy Towns Coffee Morning at 1100 hours. All Welcome.

Club Supper 6 this Wednesday night sees guest chefs Donna O’Leary O’Sullivan & Friends takeover the kitchen and bookings are now being taken in the clubhouse.

The annual WOW “Women On the Water” event in aid of Breakthrough Cancer Research and Marymount Hospice is on Thursday 16th August. Registration is in the Clubhouse at 1400 hours – all welcome. Adults 25 Euro, Children 10 Euro. Bring your lifejackets!. BBQ in the club at 1700 hours approx.
